Day # 177 - UGH!

I've kept my luggage in a closet in the attic for the last 20+yrs.
Just pulled this out along with a yellow duffle bag

and looks like the damn mice got to them! It was my favorite
case that I bought in Covent Gardens in London
years ago too! Yeah, my cat's are doing a great job!
Guess it's time to leave the closet door open!

Day #176 - Bing

I've had the Google Earth car catch me in my garden weeding.
I found myself on Google Earth. This morning the Bing car got me as I
was rummaging for something in the trunk of my car. It then passed me again
as I was driving into work. Ever feel like you're being watched?

Day #169 - My Grandad

This fuchsia sits in a pot just outside my back door. I can't look at a fuchsia without thinking of my Dear Ole Grandad. He had them growing in his back garden. His were perennials, his were deep red, his were huge, his were old and his were amazing!! I'll have to find a photo of Grandad in his garden. He so loved it and we so loved him! I'm really lucky as I had a great relationship with all of my grandparents despite living with an ocean between us. I think my love of gardening and birding came from them I really do cause I know it didn't come from my parents :)

I swung by Renninger's Farm on Saturday and the 1st thing Jay said is 'do you have good shoes on?'
Um, nope, but I have some in the car. 'Good, go get them and let's go' he said with a smile :)  Babies? 'Yep!'
Oh looky, this little guys is only 3 days old.

Day #164 - Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Mom!
Wishing all the Dad's out there a great Father's Day! As Anne Geds once said
'Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad.'
It maybe 13yrs, but Dad will always be Dad!
To honor my Dear Ole Dad on this Father's Day, I gave Mom 2 books by her favorite author as well as
her first ever Father's Day card. We then went on a short hike around the John Heinz Wildlife
Refuge. A great day was had by us both and we know Dad was with us as we had a little
cabbage white flutterfly flutter along with us! :)

I was driving past this abandoned house again and had to pull in the drive way as there was a show going on on the roof.

Day #152 - The Old Phoenixville Tunnel

There was the 4 of us that set off to find the old, now abandoned, Phoenixville Tunnel. We met at 2 Sunday afternoon, we as in Marji Kay, Jesse, Nathan and me. We headed up the South side, found the entrance to the tunnel, but it was a straight drop down the side of rock. The rocks here is what I'm talking about, HA look at the face there sticking it's tongue out as if to say you suckers you'll never make it down here. We walked back down the hill to try and walk along what was the old line. OMG, swampy, muddy and we were sinking. Hmmm, let's try from the North Side.
Cell Phone pic here, but this is the beginning of the North Side

I'd been to Renninger's early and good ole Jay had drawn a map for me to the North Side. Great map too.
Here's Nathan, Marji Kay and Jesse traipsing through lots of overgrown green, prickers and
poison ivy. Nathan has a machete, which we did end up using too.
We FOUND IT!!! Marji Kay was the 1st to spy it. It WAS the old tunnel alright and not something
anyone would stumble upon unless they were deliberately looking.

You can see some of the old railroad ties poking out of the water here

We managed to slide down to the top of the tunnel, but the only way down was on loose bits of
shale, so this was as close as we got.

Cell Phone Pic - Here were atop the tunnel over hang. Nathan's feet & my foot!

Ok now we're down here, how do we get back up, LOL! :)

Not sure what M.W.S stands for, but we found this in a little wall that we passed as we hiked back up to our cars

These too!
We may not have been able to get into the tunnel, BUT we FOUND it!
We will go back in the fall when there are no leaves and less vegetation. We'll be better prepared
too with our waders on cause are determined to get down there come hell or high water! :)
